The knight that inspired the night.

How does one become anonymous? To some people being popular is all that matters. But once at the top ladder of popularity they seek anonymity. I woke up this morning and still can’t believe what happened last night. I went to the mall to have a good laugh by watching a comedy flick. Since I slept the whole day, I still don’t want to go home after the movie. And so I thought of going to a place where I can relax and hang out.

It was past midnight. I got a bottle of beer and smoked a few sticks of cigarettes. I just tried to enjoy the night by drinking alone and thinking things over. And then this guy came. He’s a cute guy and I never really noticed who he was until someone called him and mentioned his name. He sat pretty near where I am drinking and I thought that he was a cool guy. I once saw him in a bar in Makati and my first impression about this guy was that he was really a nice guy. He is a popular celebrity but chose to remain simple. When I was about to go home, I was surprised that he talked to me and asked me if I wanted to go with him and it took a moment to give him an answer. He asked me, “Do you know me?” And I said, “Who doesn’t know you?” He even said that he wore a cap for people not to notice him, (as if the cap made a big difference.) He was a nice guy to talk to. There was no boring moment. So off we go to his place. He offered a drink—vodka sprite. (which by the way tasted very good and it’s his favorite.) I was amazed that this guy is so humble despite his achievements. He was very open telling where he came from and who he really is. He said simple things make him happy and appreciate life better. I had a great night. As to what happened after the conversation……..even I could not believe.

It would be better not to disclose his name of course. Sabi nya sa akin, he chose to be anonymous so that he may share a part of who he is, to people who know him and misunderstands him and to those who doesn’t know him yet so that he may inspire them. I am one of them.
